Rangers Score Late to Nip Ducks, 3-2 | The Houston Rangers picked up a win at Ducks Park, knocking off the Portland Ducks, 3-2, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Kareem Brobbey played a key role in the triumph. Andy Urso earned his 25th save in 29 chances. Houston occupies 4th place in the United South Division at 49-55.
Houston went in front, 3-2, on John Gagne's 16th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Gagne hit in the top of the tenth, left Portland pitcher Jim Bartholomew visibly perturbed.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Brobbey said. | | | | |
