| Firebirds Clip Ducks, 3-2, in WCS Contest | The Phoenix Firebirds took down the Portland Ducks by the score of 3-2 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Wildcard Series. The largest share of the credit belongs to Phoenix starter Andrew Mabry, who threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs.
First Baseman Adam Richards made an impact for Phoenix, when he swatted a solo home run off Leo Marquez in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Richards was 1 for 4 with a home run.
"I thought Andrew threw the ball well across the board," said Phoenix manager David Fields.
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Ducks Park.
