| Las Vegas Gets 5-3 Win | The Las Vegas Gamblers topped the Vancouver Orcas, 5-3, in Independent action at Orcas Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Las Vegas pitcher Mario Villalobos. Villalobos picked up the win for Las Vegas, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. Joe Childers was called on to finish, recording his 11th save.
Las Vegas used a well-timed hit by Ryan Burnett to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Gamblers ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"Mario was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Las Vegas manager David Fields.
With the win, Las Vegas raised its record to 28-19.
