| 6-2 Firebirds Win over Sunrays Evens Season Record | In the 6-2 Phoenix win over Tampa Bay, the impact of Rick Bevan was substantial. Bevan, who is tied for 2nd in the UL in doubles with 18, went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Phoenix is 4th in the United South Division with a record of 26-26.
The Firebirds got a big boost from catcher Gil Paguay who had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the first inning off Sunrays hurler David Smith. It was his 7th RBI of the season and put Phoenix on top, 1-0.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Paguay.
