| Rangers Win, 3-2, Versus Sunrays | The Tampa Bay Sunrays and Houston Rangers provided some drama for the home crowd.
In a low-scoring contest between the Houston Rangers and the Tampa Bay Sunrays, Jorge Rodriquez, who is tied for 10th in the UL in wins with 5, proved to be the difference. The Houston right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Rangers win. Rodriquez yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-4.
Brent Pampuch hit a 2-run triple off Jon Cornejo in the top of the second, which put the Rangers in front, 2-0. Pampuch had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"Tough loss," said Tampa Bay manager David Fields. "But that's how the chips sometimes fall."
The win hiked the Houston record to 32-28.
