| Rangers Popped by Firebirds, 6-2 | The Phoenix Firebirds picked up a win at Globe Life Field, dropping the Houston Rangers, 6-2. Mario Villalpando, who finished 3rd in the UL in innings pitched with 152.2 in 2024, was the difference-maker. With the victory, the Firebirds upped their record to 41-31.
In the top of the sixth, Phoenix left fielder Rick Bevan had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Bevan stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Phoenix. For the game, he went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We didn't play well enough to win," Houston skipper David Fields said.
