Queens Drop Rangers, 5-4 | The Denver Queens topped the Houston Rangers, 5-4, in United action at Globe Life Field. The standout performance belonged to Denver pitcher and Newington, Virginia, native Keith Swanson. Their 38-42 record puts the Queens second in the United North Division.
Denver used a clutch at-bat from Jeff Short to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Queens ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Short said. | | | | |
