He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Queens Field, but the performance lost a little luster when the Queens were downed, 14-4, by the Phoenix Firebirds. After his glittering performance, the Denver first baseman told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," Acevedo said. Alex Acevedo hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jesus Alaniz in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
