His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 25-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the United Reliever of the Year Award for 2027.
The Aurora, Colorado native won the award with 5 saves in 43 relief appearances, 65 strikeouts in 60.1 innings and a record of 2-3 to go with his 1.94 ERA.
He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 20. Jeff Slack of the Chicago Hawks finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Andy Urso of the Houston Rangers finished third.
