| Firebirds Win, Now 50-46 | Phoenix pitcher Eric Finn did his part in helping his team beat the Leon Toltecs, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Finn yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-1. Mike Vega sewed up the save, his 23rd.
Phoenix used the hitting of Michael Gartman to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Firebirds on top, 3-0. For the game, Gartman had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Gartman told a Phoenix Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
