Condors Lose to Evergeens, 5-3 | Evergeens Grounds was the site of a competitive game between the Boston Condors and Seattle Evergeens.
Seattle Evergeens starter Corey Halcomb was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Boston Condors, 5-3. In 5 innings, Halcomb surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Jon Godbee closed the door for Seattle, picking up his 14th save of the year.
David Hoop had a big solo home run for the Evergeens in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Seattle leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he got a sinker from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Nestor Perez and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 9th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Evergeens ahead, 4-2.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Hoop.
The Evergeens, at 27-17, lead by one game in their division. | | | | |
