Vancouver Beats Jacksonville, 4-1 | Vancouver starter Mark Ryan kept the Jacksonville offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his curveball in leading the Orcas to a 4-1 win. Ryan yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 6-3. With the win over Jacksonville, the Orcas improved to 23-28.
Vancouver won the game in part because of Jesus Luna. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Orcas ahead, 3-0. For the game, Luna had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Mark did a nice job," said Orcas manager David Fields. | | | | |
