Marauders Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus New York | The Minneapolis Marauders topped the New York Empire, 6-4, in Independent action at Marauders Field. The standout performance belonged to Minneapolis pitcher and Commack, New York, native Tom Boatright. The win went to Scott Kelly in relief, making him now 3-0. Willie Casas took the loss for New York. Erick Muniz earned the save, his 2nd, for the Marauders .
The Marauders got a big at-bat from second baseman Mario Cardenas. For the game, Cardenas went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 3-2 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Cardenas said.
