| Orcas Clonk Evergeens, 6-3 | The Vancouver Orcas defeated the Seattle Evergeens, 6-3, in Independent action at Orcas Stadium. Vancouver pitcher Arturo Paredes had a standout performance. Paredes yielded 3 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 4-6. Antonio Olivares, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 14th save.
Sean Raabe had a big 3-run home run for the Orcas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Vancouver leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from David Ramirez and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 7th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Orcas ahead, 4-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Raabe.
The Orcas, at 25-30, inhabit 4th place in the Independent North Division.
