| Gamblers Beaten By Empire, 8-5 | The New York Empire spoiled a good performance by Las Vegas left fielder Dave Solorio, bumping off Las Vegas, 8-5, at Empire Ballpark. Solorio hit 2 home runs. Danny Gephart earned the win. Manny Hernandez, who is tied for 7th in the IL with a 1.13 WHIP, took the loss for Las Vegas. With the win, New York upped its record to 33-22.
Left Fielder Danny Nunez made an impact for New York, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Manny Hernandez in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Nunez was 1-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Nunez told the New York News.
