| Marauders Deal Condors 7-3 Defeat | Minneapolis beat Boston on the strength of starting pitcher Jerry Gomez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. Gomez, the winner, moves to 3-7. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. B.J. Howe recorded his 19th save for Minneapolis.
Neal Kerfoot, who is a two-time All-Star, took Boston hurler Jason Jones deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Marauders on top, 3-1. In all, Kerfoot had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Kerfoot.
The third-place Marauders now have a record of 40-35.
