| Martinez Now 1-0 Following 3-1 Win | Orcas Stadium was the site of the home opener for the Vancouver Orcas. The contest featured a prime matchup between Hector Martinez of the visiting Seattle Evergeens and Arturo Paredes of the Orcas. The final score was 3-1, the Evergeens getting the win. Hector Martinez turned in the best performance.
Vancouver had little success against Martinez and his fastball. Martinez tossed 100 pitches over 7.1 innings for the Evergeens.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Martinez.
