| Lomond Stars for Evergeens in 5-2 Win | The 5-2 Seattle win over Vancouver was due largely to Kevin Lomond. The Evergeens first baseman went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Sincere Stevens, the winner, is now 7-3. He struck out 8 and walked 2 over 7 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. By defeating Vancouver, the second-place Evergeens improved to 47-35.
With Seattle leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Lomond hit a fastball from Mark Ryan for a 3-run home run. It was his 28th home run of the season and put the Evergeens ahead, 4-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Lomond. "And not try to do too much."
