| Gamblers Rebuff Sentinels, 4-2 | Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Las Vegas Gamblers got the win.
The Las Vegas Gamblers rode a solid performance from 25-year-old starting pitcher Mario Villalobos to a win, beating the Arlington Sentinels, 4-2, at Las Vegas Grounds. Picking up the save was Alex Arias, his 2nd.
The Gamblers got a big at-bat from first baseman Chris Shumaker. For the game, Shumaker went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Las Vegas a 2-1 lead.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Villalobos.
The Sentinels, at 50-49, have lost 5 straight games.
