| Toltecs Drop Ducks, 6-5 | The Leon Toltecs knocked off the Portland Ducks, 6-5, in United action at Toltecs Field. Leon pitcher and Ecatepec, Mexico, native Felix Hernandez had an outstanding performance. Ryan Struyk locked down his 4th save. The Ducks fall to 7-9 and continue their sputtering start to the 2027 season.
Brian Kelly had a big bases-clearing double for the Toltecs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Leon leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Remington Dillon and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Toltecs ahead, 6-2.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Kelly.
