| Sunrays Eke Out 4-3 Win Versus Phoenix | The Tampa Bay Sunrays picked up a win at Sunrays Field, downing the Phoenix Firebirds, 4-3. On the mound for Tampa Bay was right-hander Rémy Girard, who played a pivotal role in the win. Tampa Bay reliever Steve Crisp picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jeff Hamilton was saddled with the loss. The victory gives Tampa Bay a record of 15-11.
Tampa Bay took a 4-3 lead on Alejandro Ricaurte's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Ricaurte hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Phoenix pitcher Jeff Hamilton shaking his head.
"Rémy's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Tampa Bay manager David Fields.
