| Leon Nets 5-4 Win Versus Sunrays | Sunrays Field was the site of a competitive game between the Tampa Bay Sunrays and Leon Toltecs.
The Leon Toltecs overcame a good performance by Tampa Bay left fielder Alex Ruiz to knock off Tampa Bay, 5-4, at Sunrays Field. Ruiz went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win belonged to Scott Benedict in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Joe Black took the loss for Tampa Bay.
Rico Garcia came through with a big-time hit for Leon. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Winning never gets dull," said Garcia.
Leon is now 13-17.
