| Orcas Curb Orange, 5-3 | A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Vancouver Orcas and Orlando Orange.
The Vancouver Orcas picked up a win at Orcas Stadium, knocking off the Orlando Orange, 5-3. On the mound for Vancouver was left-hander Rico Duran. He played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Duran, now 2-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 10. Antonio Olivares, who finished 3rd in the IL in saves with 27 in 2024, nailed down the save.
Jesus Luna cracked a home run off Aaron Staff in the bottom of the fourth. His solo blast put the Orcas on top, 1-0. In all, Luna had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Luna attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
With the loss, Orlando sinks to 9-8.
