| Queens Win at Houston, 4-1 | Good production from designated hitter Cesar de Lara helped the Denver Queens topple the Houston Rangers, 4-1. de Lara was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Queens. Pat Duncan earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 3-0. Mike Walters collected his 21st save.
Denver grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when de Lara hit a grand slam home run off Kareem Brobbey. His 16th home run of the season put the Queens out in front, 4-1.
de Lara said his team "played with focus."
Denver currently is in second place in the United North Division at 37-42.
