 | Ducks Heading to Championship Series Wednesday, August 11th , 2027 The Portland Ducks are heading to the Championship Series, having narrowly defeated the Chicago Hawks. Portland edged Chicago in the series 3-2, with a win at Hawks Park in the clinching game by a 9-6 margin. Derek Darby turned in a strong offensive performance for the Ducks and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Darby continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .353 with a .429 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Portland Ducks will play against the San Francisco Pioneers in the next round.
