| Hawks Edge Ducks, 3-2 | Chicago beat Portland at Hawks Park, eking out a 3-2 win. The triumph was primarily due to shortstop Phil Bohman. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. The first-place Hawks have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
Chicago grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Bohman hit a solo home run off Phil Drake. His 17th home run of the season put the Hawks out in front, 3-2.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Portland manager David Fields.
