| Portland Dismisses Toronto, 7-4 | The Portland Ducks trumped the Toronto Mounties, 7-4, at Mounties Park. Portland shortstop Derek Darby was terrific. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Billy Corrigan, who is tied for 8th in the UL in innings pitched with 137.2, was the winner. He's now 10-10. The loser was Angel Lopez. Josh Young was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Portland took a 7-2 lead on Darby's 5th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Elias Birriel in the top of the eighth, propelled Portland to the win.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Darby.
The defeat makes Toronto 41-67.
