| Evergeens Lose at Home, 6-4 | The Arlington Sentinels stopped the Seattle Evergeens, 6-4, at Evergeens Grounds. The Sentinels got a big game from David Carl, who was 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Getting the save was Willie Ayala, his 7th. Arlington, now 25-28, holds down third place in the Independent South Division.
With Arlington leading 1-0 in the top of the sixth, Carl hit a run-scoring single off Seattle hurler Bill Kowalchuk. It was the 59th hit of the season for Carl and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Carl, "one at-bat at a time."
