Orlando Squanders Great Game by Mouton | Though he had a terrific game, Abel Mouton could not prevent his team, the Orlando Orange, from absorbing a loss. Minneapolis won the game, 5-3. Mouton belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Travis Welker got the win, improving to 4-2. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. The 4th-place Orange have lost 5 straight games.
Alex Ruiz had a big 2-run double for the Marauders in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Minneapolis leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Aaron Jenkinson and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marauders ahead, 4-1.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Ruiz, "and then get after it again." | | | | |
