Orange Upend Wranglers, 5-3 | The Orlando Orange had to overcome a big game from San Antonio third baseman Daniel Richard to leave Wranglers Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-3. Richard was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. David Kumler, now 3-3, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Franklin Garcia earned the save for Orlando, his 25th of the year.
Victor Quintana came through with a big-time hit for Orlando. The center fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Quintana told the Orlando Daily News.
Orlando, now 49-53, holds down 4th place in the Independent South Division. | | | | |
