Getting an impressive start from Richard Cruz, Toronto beat Tampa Bay by the score of 1-0. Jose Nicolas got credit for the save for Toronto. It was his 3rd of the year. The win gives Toronto a record of 10-9.

Cruz, a native of Tijuana, Mexico, was dealing all game. He kept Tampa Bay hitters off-balance, while giving the Mounties 6.1 quality innings. Cruz threw 91 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 6.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Cruz.
