| Mammoths, Lara Pin Bad Loss on Queens | The home crowd had a good time watching the Denver Queens and Montreal Mammoths get after it.
The Montreal Mammoths put together a convincing win at Mammoths Field, defeating the Denver Queens, 11-2. Arturo Lara was one of the hitting stars. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for Montreal. Zackery Stocker, the winner, improved to 3-4. He held Denver to 2 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts.
With Montreal leading 8-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Lara batted against Denver pitcher Franklin Feliciano. Lara hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Mammoths on top, 11-2.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Lara.
Montreal is 16-27 and Denver, with the loss, 21-22.
