| Toltecs Topple Sunrays, 13-8, as Fiorita Shines | Toltecs first baseman Kevin Fiorita left his mark on his team's 13-8 win over the Tampa Bay Sunrays. Fiorita was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 6 for Leon in the contest. Leon pitcher Felix Hernandez got the win. He's now 5-2. Rémy Girard was tagged with the loss. The Toltecs raised their record to 21-35.
With Leon leading 8-6 in the bottom of the fifth, Fiorita hit a fastball from Sean Carlton for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Toltecs ahead, 11-6.
Toltecs manager David Fields wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
