| Pioneers Defeat Ducks, 7-4 | The San Francisco Pioneers picked up a win at Ducks Park, downing the Portland Ducks, 7-4, in 10 innings. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Phil Racine, who played a pivotal role in the win. The wins continue to add up for San Francisco. The latest makes it 9 in a row.
San Francisco used a timely hit from Brian Covington to get the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pioneers ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Phil has got a slow heartbeat," said San Francisco manager David Fields. "He doesn't panic or anything."
