It's Edgar Villagomez, this year's Independent Pitcher of the Year Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Villagomez compiled a 9-10 record in 21 starts, tallied 134 strikeouts in 141.2 innings and recorded a 2.73 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .212 batting average against him. He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 20.
