| Jacksonville Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair | The Jacksonville Jackals moved to within one game of the Championship Series, downing the New York Empire on the road at Empire Ballpark by a score of 2-1. Jackals left-hander Alex Santiago had a strong outing. He threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Jackals a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.
Alex Villegas, who is a two-time All-Star, helped out the Jacksonville cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-4 with a triple.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Santiago.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Empire Ballpark in New York.
