Evergeens Rally Late to Nip Wranglers | The Seattle Evergeens beat the San Antonio Wranglers, 7-6, at Wranglers Stadium. The win was due in part to third baseman Dave Laurence, who went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Seattle reliever Teagan Rivet was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Sergio Delgado took the loss. The 4th-place Wranglers have dropped 6 straight games.
Seattle used a timely hit from Ryan Padgett to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Evergeens ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.
Padgett told a Seattle Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win. | | | | |
