| Late Rally by Ducks Secures 6-4 Win | Portland Ducks starter Leo Marquez found his groove in his team's 6-4 win over the Montreal Mammoths. Marquez picked up the win for Portland , going 7.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. The loss drops Montreal to 2-4.
Geoff Walsh came through with a big-time hit for Portland . The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We take it day by day here," said Walsh, "and today was a good one for us."
