Mounties Upend Toltecs, 7-3
Toronto beat Leon on the strength of starting pitcher Richard Cruz's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. Jeff Selleck picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Mario Garza, who finished 4th in the UL in wins with 11 in 2025, was tagged with the loss. The win gives Toronto a record of 4-5.

The Toltecs had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Mounties going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old second baseman Jordan Sanchez came to the plate. Sanchez hit a 3-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from Leon hurler Daniel Herrera. It was Sanchez's 1st home run of the year.

"Richard kept them off-balance, threw a great game for us," said Mounties manager David Fields.
