| Meyer Homers Twice in 6-3 Mammoths Win | The home crowd had a good time watching the Phoenix Firebirds and Montreal Mammoths get after it.
Behind a solid performance from catcher Bill Meyer, the Montreal Mammoths defeated the Phoenix Firebirds, 6-3. Meyer hit 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Mammoths. Bob McLendon was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Juan Reyes.
Had Meyer not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Meyer hit a grand slam home run. The Mammoths took the lead, 6-2, and never looked back.
Meyer told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
With the win, Montreal is 3-6.
