| Montreal Earns 3-2 Win | The Mammoths grabbed a win, 3-2, at Mammoths Field, overcoming a fine effort from Houston pitcher Jorge Rodriquez. Rodriquez went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Montreal reliever Bob McLendon, now 2-1. The loser was Guillermo Garcia. Scott Pierce earned the save for Montreal, his 3rd.
Brett Duncan was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Montreal. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Guillermo Garcia. It was his 12th RBI of the season.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Houston manager David Fields, "let me know."
The Rangers fall to 6-9.
