Gardner Now 7-0 Following 3-2 Win
In a low-scoring contest between the Chicago Hawks and the Portland Ducks, Matt Gardner, who finished 3rd in the UL in ERA with 2.81 in 2024, proved to be the difference. The Chicago left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Hawks win. Jeff Slack notched his 17th save of the season. The Chicago win streak is now 3 games.

The Ducks had trouble solving Gardner, who surrendered no runs on 3 hits over 8 innings.

"It's a mindset," said Gardner. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
