| Toltecs Claim 5-3 Triumph | Leon Toltecs starter Mario Garza pitched a strong game against the Chicago Hawks at Toltecs Field, leading the Toltecs to victory, 5-3. Leon reliever Tony Galvez picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Mario Chaidez was tagged with the loss. Ryan Struyk locked down his 12th save.
Walt Wilson, who is tied for 5th in the UL in bases on balls with 34, took Chicago hurler Manuel Salas deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Toltecs on top, 3-1. In all, Wilson had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Enjoyed this one," Wilson told the Leon Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Toltecs saw their win-loss record go to 23-36. At the same time, the Hawks fell to 43-16.
