Mounties Lose to Queens, 2-0 | Denver and Toronto duked it out and the Queens came out victorious.
The Toronto Mounties went down to defeat to Carlos Juarez and his Denver teammates. The final score was 2-0, in favor of the Queens. Juarez, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Getting the save was Mike Walters, his 19th.
The Mounties had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Queens going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the fan favorite Jamie Biederman came to the plate. Biederman hit a solo home run on a 2-2 changeup from Toronto hurler Richard Cruz. It was Biederman's 14th home run of the year.
"We took home the win," said Biederman. "What's not to like?"
Denver is now 32-37, while Toronto is 25-44. | | | | |
