The standout performance belonged to Denver pitcher and Newington, Virginia, native Keith Swanson. The winning pitcher was Swanson, now 3-7. He tossed 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The second-place Queens improved to 33-37.
Bill Gonzalez had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the third for Denver. With the bases loaded and the Queens leading 2-1, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
