| Rangers Top Hawks in Extras, 6-4 | The 6-4 Houston win over Chicago was due in large part to Stuart Hively. The Rangers first baseman went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. With the win, the Rangers have a record of 42-48.
Houston used the timely hitting of Adam Merrell to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rangers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Merrell. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
