| Empire Suffer One-Run Loss at Las Vegas | Tom Parker was superb against New York. The left-hander, who finished 2nd in the IL in wins with 11 in 2025, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Gamblers victory. The score was 4-3. Joe Childers, who finished 3rd in the IL in saves with 28 last year, nailed down the save. Las Vegas is now 43-41.
The Gamblers got a big hit from third baseman Seth Klockow. Facing New York pitcher Tim Lugo in the bottom of the sixth, Klockow pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 10th home run of the season put the Gamblers ahead, 4-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Las Vegas manager David Fields.
