| Mounties Squelch Pioneers Offense in Shutout Win | Steve Tyler, who finished 3rd in the UL in ERA with 2.96 in 2025, imposed his will on the Pioneers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 5-0 Toronto triumph. The Pioneers drop to 7-9, as their stumbling start to the 2027 season continues.
Carlos Reyes dealt the Pioneers a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Toronto leading 1-0, Reyes, who is tied for 5th in the UL in RBI with 13, hit a 1-2 changeup for a run-scoring single.
"We have a lot of confidence in Steve," said Toronto manager David Fields.
