Leon catcher Jeremy Hill contributed significantly to his team's 8-7 win over the Montreal Mammoths. Hill went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Toltecs. The win went to Daniel Herrera in relief, making him now 1-0. Scott Pierce took the loss for Montreal. Picking up his 9th save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan Struyk.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Kevin Fiorita came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Montreal pitcher Scott Pierce, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Leon on top, 8-7.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Leon manager David Fields.
