Leon Squanders Big Game by Spence
The Montreal Mammoths had to overcome a big game from Leon left fielder David Spence to leave Mammoths Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 11-7. Spence hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Montreal reliever Matt Shields was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Mario Garza took the loss. The Mammoths go to 14-25 with the win.

Montreal shortstop Jay DuBois contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 32nd hit of the season and put the Mammoths ahead, 7-5.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said DuBois, "and then get after it again."
